 Educational music project 

 In November 2008 the educational opera project “Opera om aan te raken” came into being, in cooperation with Kirsten Schötteldreier and with support of the Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst. This project has been arranged for all pupils in junior school. 

"Opera is odd music in which they kiss singing, die singing and make real fools of themselves", according to 10-year old Merel. At such moments it seems difficult to get children enthusiastic about opera. However, since children are curious by nature, it isn’t that difficult for them to discover something new and exciting. On the basis of the dramatic power and the fairy-tale world of the opera Die Zauberflöte by W. A. Mozart, we search together with the children for answers to the questions raised by them.
